French startup Netatmo  just introduced a new developer platform called Netatmo Connectso that developers can build software and hardware integrations with Netatmo products. Netatmo sells weather stations, thermostats, indoor and outdoor cameras. The startup raised $32 million in November 2015.

Foursquare and Uber have today announced a global partnership that would use Foursquare’s location data to let users type in a venue name (instead of address) when setting their destination.

Uber currently partners with Google Maps for points of interest, with TomTom Navigation hooked into the driver apps for directions and transit information.

The European Union’s executive body has today set out a series of proposals for new rules that would apply to a broad range of online platforms, from the likes of YouTube to Google to eBay, as part of ongoing efforts to boost competitiveness in the region under its Digital Single Market Strategy.

Increasing price-transparency and regulatory oversight of cross-border parcel delivery services to boost regional ecommerce is another priority.

2015 was a watershed year for app advertising on TV, with around $16 million being spent between Clash of Clans, Game of War and Heroes Charge at the Super Bowl.
